The issue of fixing problems caused by technology with more technology was already summarized in 1959 in this classic by the late great Harry Belafonte and Odetta:

Back then (in the Netherlands), milk, veggies etc. were packed in glass bottles / containers with metal lids. Those bottles had to be paid for, could be returned at the shop and were used again.

No issues with plastics (BPA, endocrine disruptors, micro- and nano-particles).

Unfortunately, those having profiteered from destroying / maiming living organisms and the environment have become too powerful (and overfilled with hubris) to be forced to repair the damage.

so are we not at risk than of running out of resources ? here in belgium there is a study that citizens eat a bankingcard monthly just because microplastics in our food and drinks on the oxygen part is it not so that 50 % of earth's weight is oxygen than silicuim and other metals and minerals ?
